Looking to do a Liposculpture in San Diego? Liposculpture, most commonly referred to as Liposuction, is a surgical procedure that is highly effective for removing unwanted fat in a specific body area.  The ideal patient is one who has hereditary fat accumulations that are diet and exercise resistant.  These are most commonly found in the abdomen, hips, inner and outer thighs, inner knees, upper arms, neck and cheek areas.  The latest technical developments in liposculpture produce great safety and very happy patients, with a minimal recovery period.  In my practice, I do not do liposculpture on significantly overweight patients for the purpose of weight reduction.  Large-volume liposculpture (that is, greater than 5000 cc) is associated with a higher risk of complications and has been the subject of some highly publicized media coverage in the past.  Typical recovery time is one to three days, and there is very minimal discomfort.

Liposuction is a popular operation in cosmetic surgery which removes fat from many sites on the human body, (typically the abdomen, thighs, buttocks, neck, arms and elsewhere) via a cannula and aspirator. While exercise and dieting may be useful for ridding oneself of unwanted weight and fat, some fat deposits may not respond to an individual's efforts at weight loss. Applying liposuction techniques may be an option in these situations. Liposuction is not a low-effort alternative to exercise and diet. It is a form of body contouring and not a weight loss method. The amount of fat removed varies by doctor, method, and patient, but the average amount is typically less than 10 pounds (5 kg). There are several factors that limit the amount of fat that can be safely removed in one session. Ultimately, the operating physician and the patient make the decision. Reports of people removing 50 pounds (25 kg) of fat are exaggerated. However, the contouring possible with liposuction may cause the appearance of weight loss to be greater than the actual amount of fat removed. The procedure may be performed under general or local ("tumescent") anesthesia - the latter appears to have a better safety record. (From Wikipedia.org)

Costs are almost impossible to define without a personal consultation; however, as a general guideline, the price for one area is $3200, and each additional area is $750 (e.g., liposculpture of only the abdomen costs $3200; the abdomen and both outer thighs cost $4700 -- $3200 + $750 + $750).
