Looking for blepharoplasty in San Diego? Blepharoplasty, also called an eyelid lift, is the most common facial plastic procedure performed in my office.  The first signs of aging to appear in the mid to late 30's are almost always related to the eyes.  Furthermore, psychological studies show that 50 percent of our initial impression of a person is made on the basis of the appearance of the eyes.  The eyes tell others if we are sad, happy, angry or tired.  Blepharoplasty corrects the appearance of droopy upper eyelids and puffy bags of the lower eyelids, and it produces dramatic and predictable results.  It is very common to hear family and friends of eyelid patients compliment them that they look more rested and relaxed.  Quite often, even these close acquaintances do not realize that surgery was performed.  The recovery is very rapid and you can resume a normal routine in one to two days.  The sutures come out in four days, and makeup can be resumed on day five.  It is virtually painless surgery, and the cost ranges from approximately $1900 for upper or lower eyelids alone, to $3500 for upper and lower eyelids together. Please call today to set up an appointment.

Blepharoplasty is a cosmetic plastic surgical procedure intended to reshape the upper eyelid or lower eyelid by the removal and/or repositioning of excess tissue as well as by reinforcement of surrounding muscles and tendons. The procedure is used to improve the appearance of sagging upper eyelids and puffy lower "bags". When upper eyelid changes are severe in the elderly, blepharoplasty may sometimes be undertaken to open up the field of vision impaired by overhanging skin.

Blepharoplasty is performed through external incisions made along the natural skin lines of the eyelids, such as the creases of the upper lids and below the lashes of the lower lids, or from the inside surface of the lower eyelid. Initial swelling and bruising take one to two weeks to resolve but at least several months are needed until the final result becomes stable. Depending upon the scope of the procedure, the operation takes one to three hours to complete.

Asian blepharoplasty, or double eyelid surgery, is the most popular form of cosmetic surgery among those of east and southeast Asian background. About half of this population are born without an eyelid crease and are called single-lidded. Surgery is used to create a crease above the eye, thus making the eye appear more open and alert and facilitating the application of make up. (From: Wikipedia.org)
