- Specialization - Dr. Splinter has restricted his practice to cosmetic surgery of the face and body, and fewer than 5 percent of plastic surgeons do this. Because cosmetic surgery is all we do 50 hours a week, we are able to develop the skills, knowledge and judgment to provide cosmetic patients with the best advice and surgical care.
- Board Certification - Dr. Splinter is dual Board Certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery (98th percentile board score), and the American Board of Facial, Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (92nd percentile board scores).
- Experience - Regardless of good scores, it is the ongoing study and experience over many years that refines the skill and knowledge that leads to excellence. Dr. Splinter has 28 years of experience, training and practice in cosmetic surgery.
- Continuing Education - Dr. Splinter attends several national continuing medical education courses every year and rigorously reads five different journals each month to search out and investigate the newest and hottest techniques in cosmetic surgery. Dr. Splinter stays in contact with other cosmetic surgeons around the country. Nothing escapes his investigation, but only the procedures that stand the test of time are incorporated into his practice. Most of the hottest topics that the hottest doctors' publicists put into the popular media never make it to first base in the doctors' more rigorous and scientific literature. To gain Dr. Splinter's approval, they must prove to be both safe and effective, have a low rate of complications, and produce natural, long-lasting results.
